A. Introduction

Sharingpet, Inc. and its related entities (collectively, "Sharingpet", "us", "our" or "we") is committed to maintaining and protecting the privacy rights of our users ("users" or "you").  This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store, use and manage the information you provide by accessing our websites (including, but not limited to www.Sharingpet.com (the "Site")) or any Sharingpet application provided on other websites, such as Facebook or other third party sources (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. Please note that the scope of this Privacy Policy is limited to information collected by Sharingpet directly through your use of the Services.

Protecting your privacy is a serious matter and doing so is very important to us. By using the Services, you are agreeing to the collection and use of your information as outlined in this Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are responsible for periodically reading this Privacy Policy. If you use our Services after we have updated this Privacy Policy, you acknowledge that you have read the updated terms and consent to our revised privacy practices. Use of the Services after changes are made to the Privacy Policy will be considered your consent to the new terms.

B. Information We Collect

When you register for the Services, we may collect "Personal Information," (which includes, but is not limited to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you such as your name, phone number, credit card or other billing information, email address, home address, visited retailers, and designated causes), as well as anonymous information. Personal Information is collected out of necessity so that we can distribute donations to your causes, track your shopping and giving history, which allows for better account management tools and accountability. If you so desire and our system supports it, we may also allow you to send your Sharingpet donations to the causes you care about via direct donations on Sharingpet.com. Personal Information can also be used to contact or identify you. Personal Information, once collected, is never shown on the Site. It may be emailed only to the address provided with the Personal Information, but never to a different address even if that different address is believed to be a new address for the same person. By supplying such information, you acknowledge that we have your affirmative consent and may use such information for promotional, marketing or any other such use that we consider appropriate. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to prevent any sensitive personal information from becoming publicly available.We also collect "Anonymous Information," which includes, but is not limited to, application use data and IP addresses. How we collect such anonymous information is discussed below.
How We Collect Information

In addition to registration for the Services, we collect information in the following ways:

Profiles and postings: We offer features that allow you to share your opinions and information with others, such as your friends, your causes and other Sharingpet users, who visit the Site and access the Services. We will not share this information with other organizations. However, this information may be visible to all users of our Services. We may reuse and modify this information in other places on the Site and any other sites we may own, manage and control.

Surveys: We may conduct occasional online surveys. For example, when you're within our Site, you may see a pop-up window offering you the opportunity of participating in a survey. These surveys are entirely voluntary, and you may decline to participate.

Web site usage information: We automatically collect IP addresses and web site usage information from you when you visit our Site. This information helps us evaluate how our visitors and subscribers use and navigate the Site on an aggregate basis, including the number and frequency of visitors and subscribers to each web page, and the length of their visits.

Cookies: We, and some of our third party service providers may, use a standard technology called "cookies." A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer's hard drive or temporarily in your computer's memory, so that a site can deliver content appropriate for you. For example, when you choose a city to visit, you can request a calendar of events. Our software determines which city's calendar to send by reading the cookie, which stores your city choice. When you return to the Site at another time, it will take you directly to that city's main page. The Site uses cookies only to streamline the viewing experience, distinguish paid members from other viewers, and collect aggregate information about user behavior such as average length of a site visit. There is no way to use cookies to collect personal data from a personal computer. If you choose to disable cookies in your web browser certain features of the Site and the Services may not work.If you do not want us to pass cookies to your computer, you may disable cookies in the preference or options menu of your web browser. However, certain functions of the Sites may not work if you choose to disable cookies. Particularly, if you use the Sharingpet Tool, it may be rendered virtually inoperable if you disable cookies.

Browsing History: If you elect to download our Sharingpet Shopping Tool, you may receive special alerts based on your browsing activity. These alerts may notifiy you when you are shopping with a Sharingpet Site, when you are not shopping with a Sharingpet Site, when there are deals available for the Site, and what donations are available through the Site. A history of links to our Sites may be kept in order to better personalize you shopping alerts.While using the Sharingpet Shopping Tool, Sharingpet may alter your browsing destination in order to direct you to a Sharingpet version of your desired site. This is done in order to track your purchases and direct commissions to Sharingpet, which we then use to benefit your causes. By using the Sharingpet Shopping Tool, you acknowledge and consent to this procedure in its entirety.

C. How We Use Information Collected

We may use your Personal Information in the following ways:

  • To provide you the services offered on our Site, complete your transactions and answer your questions.
  • To send you email notifications about our new or existing products and services, special offers, communicate account and cause management tools and benefits or to otherwise contact you.
  • To contact you with our marketing partners' newsletters, marketing or promotional materials that may be of interest to you.

We may use Anonymous Information in the following ways:

  • To enhance existing features or develop new features, products, and services.
  • To provide advertisers and other third parties with aggregate information about our user base and usage patterns.
  • To evaluate how our visitors and subscribers use and navigate our Site on an aggregate basis, including the number and frequency of visitors and subscribers to each web page and the length of their visits.

We may use Personal Information together with Anonymous Information in the following ways:

  • To allow us to personalize the content and advertising that you and others see based on individual characteristics or preferences.
  • To attempt to provide you with a better experience.
  • To improve the quality and value of the services we provide.
  • To analyze and understand how our Sites and services are used.

D. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Registration: When you register through our Site and submit your Personal Information to create a profile webpage or access the Services, users may see your username and the other information about you. We may display your Personal Information in your profile page and elsewhere on the Site according to the preferences you set in your account. Any information you choose to provide should reflect how much you want other users to know about you. We recommend that you guard your anonymity and sensitive information and we encourage members to think carefully about what information about themselves they disclose in their profile pages. You can review and revise your profile information at any time.Service Providers: We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate the Services we provide on our Site or through the Sharingpet Shopping Tool, to provide those Services on our behalf, to perform tasks, (e.g., without limitation, maintenance services, database management, web analytics and improvement of the Site and the Services) or to assist us in analyzing how our Site and Services are used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

E. Third-Party Advertising

Our Services may include third-party advertising and links to other web sites. We do not send any Personal Information to these advertisers or web sites. These third-party advertisers or web sites may send or serve the advertisements that appear on our web site directly to your browser, and they may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser. These companies may use information (excluding your name, zip code, or email address) about your visits to our Site and Services to provide advertisements on our Sites and Services about goods and services that may be of interest to you. F. Phishing

Identity theft and the practice currently known as "phishing" are of great concern to us here at Sharingpet. Safeguarding information to help protect you from identity theft is a top priority. We do not and will not, at any time, request your credit card information, your account ID, login password, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication. G. Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement

We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of the Site and the Services or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, any illegal, unethical or legally actionable activity.

H. Business Transfers

We may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of our assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy. In this event, we will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

I. Affiliate Entities

We may provide Personal Information to an entity controlled by, or under common control with Sharingpet for any purpose permitted by this Privacy Policy.

J. Security

We take precautions to ensure the security of your Personal Information through the use of encryption and authentication tools. Once we receive your transmission, we will do our best to protect its security on our systems. Unfortunately, however, while we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to or from the Services, and you do so at your own risk. You should note that in using the Services, your information will travel through third party infrastructures, which are not under our control. We cannot protect, nor does this Privacy Policy apply to, any information that you transmit to other users. You should never transmit personal or identifying information to other users. K. Our Policy Toward Children

The Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our files. By using the Services, you and represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

L.  Changes

You may review, update, correct or delete Personal Information we receive from you. If you elect to register with us and you would like to review, update, correct or delete that Personal Information, you may do so by contacting us by clicking the "Contact Us" or FEEDBACK link at Sharingpet.com and include sufficient detail in your communication so that we may identify you and your profile.

M. Policy Modifications

Sharingpet, Inc. reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy. Please check this page periodically for changes. Any such modification constitutes a successor Privacy Policy. Continued use of the Site or the Services indicates your acceptance of such successor Privacy Policies.
